Equipment Function：

The equipment is intended for smoke alarm or smoke detector sampling test.  The smoke box is constructed typical sensitivity smoke test chamber construction as specified in appendix B of UL 217 8th edition.  It consists of the following items:

  1. Outer Cabinet: constructed of exterior grade plywood according to standards dimension
  2. Inner compartment: constructed of plywood according to standards dimension
  3. Circulating fan: DC fan powered Keysight DC power supply
  4. Exhaust fan: AC fan
  5. Photocell: Model 594 RR as standard recommended
  6. Lamp: Type 4515 as standard recommended
  7. Data acquisition device: Computer with National instruments DAQ card
  8. Software: Zon-test Smoke box software.

The smoke box can be used to perform initial sensitivity test, directionality test, velocity- sensitivity test and other stability test with auxiliary equipment.

 

Note:  The UL standard required Measuring Ionization Chamber (MIC) to be included to monitoring smoke particles size. The MIC is not included in quotation if no specified but the mounting port and data acquisition connection port are reserved.
